Moringa leaves powder / Drumstick leaves powder

The Moringa or drumstick leaves have almost all the nutrients we need regularly for good health and well-being.
They are packed with so many nutrients, antioxidants and are rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals like calcium, iron, protein, magnesium, zinc, and are low in fat.
Making powder from Moringa leaves is very easy and can be consumed with hot white rice and homemade ghee.

Method of preparation

Ingredients
Drumstick leaves -- 1 & 1/2 cup to 2 cups
Red chilies             6-7
Tamarind                pea sized
Chana dal            -- 2 tbsp.
Urad dal                    2 tbsp.
Coriander seeds       2 tbsp.
Black pepper            2 tsp
Cumin seeds             2 tsp
Asafoetida               1/2tsp
Turmeric powder      pinch
Fenugreek seeds      1/2 tsp
Sesame seeds         1 tbsp.
Desiccated coconut 1 tbsp. (optional)
Groundnuts               3 tbsp. (optional)
Oil                            2 tsp
Salt according to the taste

Method

Moringa leaves are washed and dried for some time on a tissue paper or on a towel.
The pan is heated and a teaspoon of oil is taken and to it red chillies, asafoetida, chana dal, urad dal, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, sesame seeds, groundnuts (optional) and black pepper are added.
Roasted until the dals start to turn golden, and then tamarind, desiccated coconut (optional) and turmeric powder are added.
They are taken in a plate and allowed to cool. Once cooled, the plate contents are transferred to the mixer jar. Salt is added and the mixer is run till the ingredients become into a coarse powder.
A teaspoon of oil is added to the pan and dried moringa leaves are roasted on low flame.
Now the roasted moringa leaves are added and powdered well.
The powder is stored in an air-tight container.

Note: - Taking too much moringa leaves powder may lead to flatulence, and may upset the stomach, so start slowly and then increase gradually.
